American Airlines will start service to Ocho Rios Jamaica.
Beginning in November, AA will fly its first flight ever to Ian Fleming International Airport in Ocho Rios.
This brand new flight path will depart twice weekly from Miami! This is very exciting news as Ocho Rios has been a popular tourist destination for decades. The only downside to enjoying all Ocho Rios has to offer was the nearly 2 hour transfer time from Montego Bay by car.
Ocho Rios’s airport is named after Ian Fleming. Ian is credited as the creator of James Bond. So there’s a fun underlying reason why flight 4007 will be # that carry’s guests from Miami to Ocho Rios!
These flights are already available for purchase and we cannot be more excited about this new flight route.

There are so many great resorts in Ocho Rios, having a direct flight into the area makes these resorts much more accessible.
The timing of the new route into Ocho Rios is perfect for Sandals Resorts as they add three new resorts to the area: Sandals Dunn’s River, Sandals Royal Dunn’s River and Beaches Runaway Bay! Sandals also has already well established resorts in Sandals Ochi, Sandals Royal Plantation (butler only resort!), and Beaches Ocho Rios.
This is not the only news American Airlines is making, starting next month AA will have a direct flight from Austin TX and Montego Bay.
AA’s VP of International & Premium Guest Services offered up the following:
“As we celebrate our 45th anniversary in Jamaica, we are thrilled to launch our third destination in the island, Ocho Rios, becoming the first U.S. airline that offers access to this Caribbean paradise,” said José A. Freig, American’s Vice President of International and Premium Guest Services. “Flight 4007 will connect our customers with Ian Fleming International Airport, just minutes away from some of Jamaica’s most beautiful natural treasures.”
