Disney unveils their newest cruise ship called the Disney Wish, and it looks amazing!
This week Disney showcased their newest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet in a virtual meeting. This cruise ship looks to immerse guests for a “first of a kind” experience. Cruising starts summer of 2022!
The ship has 1,250 rooms and can accommodate 4,000 guests. This ship will be powered by liquefied natural gas, a Disney Cruise Line first! This will lower emissions and drive down the ship’s and fleets environmental footprint.
This ship boasts everything from dining experiences based on Star Wars to what Disney calls “attractions at sea.” These attractions include a new waterslide called “Aqua Mouse” on the top deck of the ship. It plays a short film before guests will be sent around the top deck of the ship on this 760-foot water slide!
Another first of its kind is The Oceaneer Club! This will be the first at sea for Disney. Kids will go through a “secret entrance” that resembles a round portal. After going through the secret entrance the kids will be sent down a slide that leads to the Oceaneer Club! (Ages 3 -12 is the age range for the club).
Kids will also be able to learn how to become a super hero directly from their favorite super hero characters like Spider-Man in the ship’s Superhero Academy!!
The fun doesn’t stop their for kids, as they can make their own pictures in Rapunzel Art Studio, or the Belle Library that is “Beauty and the Beast” themed!
For kids that enjoy roller coasters there will be a new Imagineering Interactive Lab! This lab will let kids literally design their own roller coaster and give them the ability to try out their own by riding it virtually!
The Walt Disney Theater on board will play “Disney’s Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular” nightly!
FOR THE ADULTS:
“For the first time on a Disney ship, guests will embark on a space-jumping tour of the Star Wars Galaxy at Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge, a high-end bar styled as a luxurious yacht-class spaceship. This richly themed, immersive expiernece will be reserved for adults every evening, offering interactive tasting experiences and signature beverages inspired by destinations such as Batuu, Tatooine, and Mustafar.”

Dining:
There will be a Beauty and Beast lounge named “The Rose.” Disney really raised the bar with this ship when it comes to guest experience and dining! In addition to The Rose there will be a steakhouse called “The Palo Steakhouse” this is themed based on Disney’s Cogsworth. Apparently this will be a mix of a Steakhouse crossed with genuine Italian food. Sounds yummy!
“Enchange” will be the ship’s high-end dining option. This is themed based on Luminere, the candlestick character from the Disney film Beauty and the Beast!
In addition to the restaurants there will be three new restaurants:
- “Arendelle” will be a Frozen Dining Experience
- “1923” is the year that Walt Disney Studios opened and has all the deliciousness from Hollywood and California
- The last new restaurant was announced as TOP SECRET! It’s a top secret mission that unfolds while you dine as you dine in the World of Marvel!
Rooms:
Disney also upped the game when it comes to staterooms. Disney boasted that this ship will be the most family friendly ship of the Disney fleet! 900 of the 1,254 state rooms will be adjoining. Some staterooms will be two stories and some are above the ships bridge! As seen in the photo below rooms will be decorated with artwork that is inspired by “Cinderella” and many other traditional Disney classics!
