Sandals Resorts International is expanding their iconic brand and portfolio to the beautiful island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
They acquired the Buccament Bay Spa and Resort that has been shut down since 2016.
The plan is to overhaul this property and create a Beaches Resort at the site. A representative with the chain says they expect the current resort to go through an “extensive re-imagination and renovation” to create a beautiful Beaches Resort. This will create the fourth Beaches resort in the Sandals portfolio, adding to their existing Beaches resorts in Negril Jamaica, Ocho Rios Jamaica, and Beaches Turks and Caicos.
The property wraps around the Caribbean Sea and is located within a beautiful mountain range and nearby rainforest.
Beaches Resorts are known for their family friendly environment featuring something for all age groups. Kids can play in their water parks, interact with Sesame Street characters, and play in a wide variety of kid lounges.
This new resort is just minutes from the Argyle International Airport so guests can expect a very short transfer to the property after arrival.
“Investing in St. Vincent and its captivating people, was not only compelling, but a natural next step for continued expansion within the Eastern Caribbean,” said Gordon “Butch” Stewart, SRI founder and chairman.
Beginning with our first entry in Saint Lucia many years ago and more recently Grenada and Barbados, we are champions of growth for the Eastern Caribbean, and it has remained at the forefront of our expansion strategy,” said Stewart.
We will keep everyone posted on the progress and target opening dates as more information comes out. Needless to say we are beyond EXCITED for this grand opening and can’t wait to send clients there!
