How Airlines are Making Travel Safe During the Pandemic

Wearing masks is mandatory for traveling in any Airline.

Several airlines, such as American, United, and Delta, have enacted new rules requiring all travelers to wear masks. Although there are reports that some travelers did not comply with the rules, seven major US airlines recently notified travelers of the rules before arriving at the airport. If any flyers didn’t follow the rule, they have to face penalties like fly bans and removals.

UV Sanitation

Ultraviolet light is used by many industries in the travel industry, from New York subways and buses to ITC hotels. UV lamps have been proved effective in killing not only COVID-19 but also other viruses such as Ebola, influenza, and SARS. We might even see them practiced in airports soon. Pittsburgh International Airport puts them on floor cleaning robots to get ride of the coronavirus from the floor.

New TSA Rules

The TSA has executed new rules to avoid the spread of COVID-19 at airports. For example, travelers no longer give their boarding pass to TSA personnel and keep it handy for inspection. Food should be stored in clear plastic bags and containers. There are reports that TSA will introduce thermal scanners to check travelers’ temperature as COVID-19 is known to cause fever, and there is hope to prevent the spread of the disease at airports and planes in this way.

COVID-19 Testing is Must

Nearly everyone in the travel industry checks the temperature of employees. Some, like Maison Privee, a short-term rental service in Dubai, require staff to test COVID-19 regularly. The contractors and Employees of this airline regularly test COVID-19 with the COVID-19 IgM Rapid Test Kit.
Similarly, Alaska required all arriving passengers to undergo the COVID-19 test, and Emirates was the first airline to perform a coronavirus test on its travelers.

Temperature Checks

Temperature checking before boarding an airplane or cruise is arguably a new norm; however, you can see it in other travel areas, such as hotels and theme parks. Frontier Airlines checks travelers for COVID-19 with a digital touchless thermometer. Boarding is not permitted if the temperature is up to 100.4 degrees Celsius or higher than that value. Canadian airports now require temperature checks for travelers exiting and entering.

Luggage Sanitization

If you are concerned about the contamination of your luggage with coronavirus while flying or staying at a hotel. You will be happy by hearing that some of them are disinfecting your luggage as well. Many hotels disinfect suitcases with UltraViolet technology. Gandhi International Airport in India Delhi does the same for travelers’ shoes and luggage too.

Empty Seats on Planes

Just as theme parks keep visitors away on rides, so do airlines. Some airlines perform better than others, but Alaska Airlines seems to be best at this new policy. This airline gives you the flexibility to cancel or rebook your trip if the airline cannot secure distance for you on your flight.
